No Exit by Jean Paul Sartre
[ send me this essay ]
It is commonly believed that the theme presented by Jean Paul Sartre in his 1944 play, No Exit was 'Hell is other people'. Rather, the play was another forum he chose in which to answer to the critics of the philosophy of existentialism. This 5 page paper asserts that the theme espoused by Sartre is actually the quest for freedom as defined by the individual's acceptance of oneself and the choices made throughout one's lifetime.
